You guys ever wondered where all of your dial up modems from middle school ran off to? They went to Bolivia. So this post is about two weeks tardy. After spending New Years in Buenos Aires Elizabeth and I decided to leave the black pudding and food reviews to Kyle and Alexa, and travel around a little bit. From BA we went to Punta del Diablo, a beach town on the east coast of Uruguay. The place is known for surfing so we gave that a try one day - try being the key word there. Surfing is tough. It was fun though and I made some progress. I´m going to give it another shot in Peru if I can. The weather wasn´t the best in Punta del Diablo but we still had a good time playing in the waves. And eating the juiciest, most delicious duraznos in the world.
It was easy enough getting up on the sand, but in the water, not so much.
I look legit though right?
Whoa! Always listen to me, Elizabeth
A long, fun bus ride put us back in Argentina at Puerto Iguazu, where we spent a few days hanging out and visiting the Iguazu National Park.
Which was amazing
Getting ready for a motorboat ride into a few of the falls.
The Brazilan border runs along the falls, and there´s a park on thier side as well. Americans have to have a 140 dollar visa, but we´d heard that somtimes they let you in on day trips. Not that day. This is after we got shut down at the immigration office at the border. We´ve been to Brazil.
How far do you think she´d make it?
From Puerto Iguazu you can see across the rivers to Paraguay (on the left) and Brazil
The park also had some good hiking trails, such as the Macuco Trail, where we saw some big ol lizards...
big ants
coatis
and a couple toucans. We also saw some tapirs and a chubby Italian lady squatting on the side of the trail with her pants down. Hubby was a little lazy on lookout, we come around a corner to hear him yell out real quick and catch the full moon hobbling off down the trail. He might have been in a little trouble on that one.
After two weeks Elizabeth finally went back home. I guess we had a pretty good time though. Thanks for the water bottle and the blow pops.
