After about 48 hours straight of economy class travel we are here in Indonesia. Here's a little summary of our past few days. We left Lexington on Wednesday and arrived in Los Angeles in the early afternoon. Thanks to our awesome cousins Matt and Lissa we were able to avoid a 12 hour layover in LA. Badass Lissa told her boss to shove it and took off work early to come pick us up, drove us up the gorgeous Pacific Coast, and 5 star wined and dined us through the afternoon and evening. You guys are by far our favorite cousins now.
The 13 hour flight from LA to Taiwan wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be, but if I ever fly over the Pacific again I might fork out for first class. It's tough to fit 6 foot 9 inches into coach seats meant for Chinese people.
We got into Jakarta, Indonesia yesterday around 2pm completely wiped out. We pretty much just found a hotel, walked around a little bit, and crashed. We had planned on staying in Jakarta all day today but yesterday afternoon was enough. The place sucked, basically. I did have some dang good noodle soup from a little street stand this morning though. I have no idea what was in it. I fully understand now the term 'language barrier.' It is a huge, huge barrier. A confrontation between us and Indonesian people usually goes something like this: We'll try to say a few of the maybe 10-20 words we know of Indonesian, they won't understand it, we start smiling, they keep on talking like we're going to understand, all of this happens really fast and both of us default to Spanish for some reason like a reflex, which helps out, they eventually resort to some smiling, we smile some more. If we're buying something we can usually get it done b/c we know the numbers and they can understand if we all talk slowly. If we're sitting next to someone on a bus or train - which we did all day today - we go through more facial expressions and nodding until nothing else can be done, and then smile some more.
Everyone has been over the top nice though, which has made up for an unimpressive country so far. We just arrived at a small beach town called Carita, on the west coast of the island, Java. We may go check out Krakatoa Volcano tomorrow, but the tours are a little expensive so we might just end up hanging out at the beach.
We love all of you guys!

Embo, you have a type here. No exchange rate for height in indonesia, you're still 6'3". No exchange rate for length either, still just 3.5".
